ixxi & Teylers museum

ixxi had partnered with the Teylers museum in Haarlem, the Netherlands.
The Teylers museum is the first and oldest museum of the Netherlands. It's the best preserved public research institute for art and science of the 18th century in the world. The museum was founded in 1784.

The museum is located in the house of Pieter Teyler van der Hulst (1702 - 1778). He was a wealthy silk manufacturer and banker. Living in the Age of Enlightment, he had a great interest in art and science. After his death, the executors of his testament decided to build a museum in which objects of art and science could be united. In 1784 the museum opened his doors for the public for the first time.

ixxi is proud to have images from the Teylers museum in its image bank! It are prints based on nature, for example: Birds of Paradise by Daniel Giraud Elliot and the Insects of Surinam by Maria Sybilla Merian.

ixxi & Jheronimus Bosch

2016 is the year of the 500th anniversary of the death of one of the Dutch Masters: Jheronimus Bosch (+ 1450 – 1516). To commemorate his death a group of people from his birth town, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, founded the Jheronimus Bosch 500 foundation.

They are now working on a special range of products, which are carrying images of the famous painter.

One of these products is ixxi. In association with the foundation we’ve created an image bank containing several illustrations from Jheronimus Bosch himself, including one of his most famous paintings; “the garden of delights” (Prado Museum, Madrid).

The fun thing of this project is that every partner of the foundation is originating in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the birth town of Bosch.
